CAPITAL CITIES ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE “VOWELS” FOR SEPTEMBER 30

  16 SEPTEMBER 2016 (Toronto, ON) – Capital Cities became a global sensation following the release of their 2013 debut album, In A Tidal Wave of Mystery, which included the 11-million selling single “Safe and Sound”. This fall sees Capital Cities return to the road, heralded by the September 30 release of their new single “Vowels” via Capitol/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Featured on the band’s forthcoming EP due for release this autumn, Vowelswill also appear in the FIFA 17 video game and official soundtrack on Spotify. Founded and fronted by Sebu Simonian and Ryan Merchant, Capital Cities are still riding the tidal wave of 1.6 million albums sold, 600 million global streams, and Platinum certifications for “Safe and Sound” in numerous countries, including Canada. The “Safe and Sound” video has more than 340 million views worldwide and won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Visual Effects and was also GRAMMY®-nominated. Capital Cities will be touring South America and the United States this fall, with no Canadian dates as-yet announced. The band’s touring history includes numerous headline tours and performances at such festivals as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Firefly, and Sasquatch. Capital Cities opened for Katy Perry on the first leg of her Prismatic World Tour and racked up many marquee television performances, including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Conan, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
