14 September, 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Hot off the heels of a successful tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of their iconic album O My Heart, Vancouver-based alt-rock band Mother Mother released a new single, “Get Up” today via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The song came to be as a result of a solo trip lead singer Ryan Guldemond took to Costa Rica for some much-needed self-reflection. Guldemond recalls, “I found myself sitting on this obscure beach in Costa Rica completely lost in thought when I noticed I was being photographed. The photographer told me he focuses in on subjects who appear to be lost in some way. I was definitely lost inside myself, in music. We ended up having a long talk, two strangers on a beach, and at the end of it he essentially told me to get up and make something happen. And right then and there on this beach thousands of miles from home I was inspired to write the chorus for what is now our new single, “Get Up.”
This is the first piece of new music the band has put out since the release of their sixth full length studio album No Culture in 2017 which produced the #1 hit single, “The Drugs.” A new full length studio album is forthcoming, watch for announcements in the coming weeks.
