Toronto ON – 18 August 2014 – Award-winning songwriter & producer Chin Injeti will release his new solo record The Reverb on September 09 via Sparks / Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The Reverb was recorded in Vancouver at both The Armoury Studio and Chin's own downtown space The Hastings Set Studio. For this album Chin enlisted the talents of Vancouver soul starlets Sophia Danai and Janette King plus local rock/reggae outfit The Boom Booms. He also called on his two Toronto friends and collaborators, Liz Rodrigues and Erik Alcock, and American rapper/actor David Banner. “I was trying to figure out what kind of record to make,” Chin admits. “After a very busy year – I don’t even know how many artists I worked with – you kind of lose yourself in the process. You’re giving yourself to everybody and you’re taking them on. I have worked with everyone from Purity Ring to Aloe Blacc …and then I had to make this record and I realized I’m not confined to one genre. I have made a Chin record – really eclectic, and full of good, positive songs.” The first single, “Black Skeletons” from The Reverb will be released today. Click here to watch the lyric video. Chin Injeti was a founding member of the groundbreaking ‘90's Toronto group Bass is Base. During their incredible success the young trio toured Canada and the U.S. with the likes of James Brown, the Fugees, Roots, Nelly Furtado and A Tribe Called Quest. Chin later moved to Vancouver and continued to thrive as an artist, songwriter and producer. He partnered with L.A-based DJ Khalil and the two have written and/or produced tracks for Dr. Dre, Nas, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes, Pink, 50 Cent and Clipse, plus such Canadian artists as Drake, Esthero, Hot Hot Heat, Madchild and SonReal. Chin wrote & performed on two tracks from the GRAMMY Award winning and multi-platinum selling record Recovery by Eminem. More recently he has been involved with California soul singer Aloe Blacc and has a credit on his song "I'm the Man" which was used for several Beats headphone and Beats Music commercials during the 2013 Super Bowl.
