CHRIS CORNELL ANNOUNCES “SONGBOOK” ALBUM DUE OUT NOVEMBER 21

Chris Cornell has been heralded as one of the pioneers of the grunge era for writing a string of hits for Soundgarden, including the Grammy award-winning "Black Hole Sun" and "Spoonman". In 1991, Chris formed Temple of the Dog, writing the classic song "Hunger Strike" featuring a duet with Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. In 2000, Cornell joined former Rage Against the Machine members (Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk) in Audioslave and wrote a series of hits including "Like a Stone", "Be Yourself" and "Doesn't Remind Me". Cornell's career as a songwriter for film has included such songs as "Can't Change Me" and "Mission" from the soundtrack to Mission Impossible II, as well as hit theme song "You Know My Name" for James Bond thriller Casino Royale, one of the most successful installments of the spy franchise to date. His songs have been recorded by diverse artists from Johnny Cash to Alice Cooper.

After performing the song on The Late Show with David Letterman and making an appearance on PBS' Tavis Smiley, don't miss him performing "The Keeper" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on October 12. Cornell begins his acoustic solo Songbook tour on November 1 in Memphis, TN with Canadian dates TBC.

Praise for Chris Cornell's Songbook shows:

"Cornell...carried the entire show with ease, demonstrating just how capable he is of commanding a stage all by himself. He was an absolute powerhouse, belting out songs with a voice that rocked the rafters." - Seattle Post-Intelligencer

"Chris Cornell still possesses the best voice in rock music... this 'Songbook' is open and it's worth reading again and again because the author is one of the most important artists to ever walk the face of the earth." - ArtistDirect.com

"Sometimes you don't recognize the full power of a voice until you strip everything away from it. Such was the case with Chris Cornell's drop dead great show at Town Hall last night....the approach served to reveal both the full force, and the utter control, of his singing… as well as how rare his timbre remains." - New York Daily News

"The two-hour, nearly two-dozen-song performance was a master class in the fine art of solo performance... he wove tender folk-tinged ballads, hard-rock torch songs, and soaring anthems into a cohesive whole, telling a few tales in between, 'Storytellers'-style." - Boston Globe

"It was a powerful concert, gathering momentum and stoking more emotion as it progressed." - Boston Herald</p
