Chvrches Share “Miracle” Produced By Steve Mac

Love Is Dead Out May 25

12 April 2018 (Toronto, ON) – “Ask me no questions, I will tell you no lies, careful what you wish for. We’re looking for angels in the darkest of skies...I’m not asking for a miracle,” CHVRCHES frontwoman Lauren Mayberry demands on the band’s new song “Miracle”, which they’ve shared ahead of the release of their new album, Love is Dead, out May 25 on Glassnote Records / Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Pre-order the album HERE.

The song was produced by Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran / ‘Shape Of You’). On working with the mega-producer, the band says:

“Miracle is the only song from Love Is Dead that we didn’t write and record in the States, instead producing it in London with Steve Mac. Steve is such an intuitive writer with such a killer ear for melody and working with him felt very easy and natural. He makes space for everyone in the room and really pushes people to try things and go outside of their comfort zone, in a good way.”

“Miracle” is the fourth track released from the forthcoming record, following “Get Out”, “My Enemy feat. Matt Berninger” and "Never Say Die”.

CHVRCHES are Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. Love Is Dead is the band’s third album, following their debut The Bones of What You Believe (2013) and its critically acclaimed follow up Every Open Eye (2015). With the soaring success of their first two albums propelling CHVRCHES into new worlds of fame and acclaim, Love Is Dead is at times euphoric and others bittersweet. It is an album about growing up and “coming to terms with the fact that there are great things in the world and there are awful things in the world and that you can’t get one without the other,” says Mayberry.

For the first time in their career, Love is Dead sees CHVRCHES welcome outside influences, with 2017 and 2018 GRAMMY Producer of the Year Greg Kurstin co-producing nine tracks, and Steve Mac producing “Miracle”.

Over the course of their career, CHVRCHES have played countless shows worldwide, with each tour’s production reaching new heights and leaping towards the top of festival bills. The band have announced their first US show, as the penultimate headliners at this year’s Governors Ball in New York city on June 3. They will also make appearances at a number of other festivals across the world. For the full itinerary and to watch for more show announcements visit the website
