05 May 2015 (Toronto, ON) – Today, the Juno Award winning, Halifax based hip hop artist Classified released the stunning new video for his track “Work Away”.

The song tells the story about people who are forced to leave home to find work to support their families - a common occurence in Atlantic Canada, with many workers heading to Northern Alberta to find employment in the oil fields.  This track feels especially timely, with Canadians reeling from the devastation currently engulfing Fort McMurray.  The horrific fire, which is now in its third day, has forced the evacuation of thousands of people in Northern Alberta. To show support for (and to rally around) the people of the province – Classified will be donating all proceeds from the sale of the track to The Canadian Red Cross which will aid in Fort McMurray relief. Following their previous collaborations “The Day Doesn’t Die” and the chart-topping smash “Inner Ninja”, Classified is reunited for the third time with David Myles on “Work Away”.  From his recent album GREATFUL (released on January 15 via Half Life Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company) the song is a testament to those who will do all that they can for the benefit of their families. Directed by Jason Levangie, the video was primarily shot in Nova Scotia, but footage was collected across the nation, including Fort McMurray. classifiedofficial.com twitter.com/classified instagram.com/classifiedhiphop facebook.com/classifiedmusic About Classified: Originally from Enfield, Halifax and born Luke Boyd, Classified started making music by plugging mics into his dad’s system in their basement to record his music.  He continued releasing music improving with each disc and since has become one of Canada’s most respected and successful rappers and producers.  Classified’s self-titled 2013 release debuted #1 on the Canadian Nielsen Soundscan chart and sold over 40,000 albums and 500,000 singles.  The release also has two top ten singles (“3 Foot Tall” is Platinum and “Inner Ninja” featuring David Myles is 4x Platinum). As one of the most influential hip hop artists, Classified hosted the 2014 Juno Awards, gained a combined 24 nominations and 8 wins at the MuchMusic Video Awards, Juno Awards and East Coast Music Awards.
