On the new single, Kulyk says: “This is the first song I’ve ever released that I didn’t write or co-write. When I first heard this one I had the most interesting response. I was immediately emotional. Like for the first time someone else had known how I've felt the last 6 years. About how never giving up on something you believe in truly is so important. How standing up and fighting for a great cause is the most brave thing you could ever do.” She continues: “Everyone I showed this song to before I cut it had their own emotional response and felt like it was written for them. That’s when I knew it was going to be powerful. I hope you feel empowered and heard listening to this song like I and so many others have. I am so proud of this song and so grateful for the opportunity to sing it!”
“The Brave” follows the recent single, “Little Boy” released just ahead of Mother’s Day alongside a powerful new lyric video showcasing Kulyk’s personal catalogue of home videos, that will leave viewers reaching for the tissue box. The song touches on the bond between mother and son, the eternal connection between parents and their kids, and how quickly they grow up. The emotional ballad immediately struck a chord with parents online, garnering significant organic momentum and countless social creations reminiscing on the fleeting nature of childhood and memorable family moments.
Kulyk released her empowering new EP, Her Rodeo, in March 2026. The collection of songs features the standout new track “Cut Him Loose”, an upbeat anthem about leaving behind a problematic man. The song continues to propel Kulyk as a country powerhouse in the making with a mix of rollicking guitar riffs, a rhythmic drum beat and her signature standout vocals and lyricism. “Cut Him Loose” continues to climb the charts since its release, currently in Top 50 at Canadian Country Radio.

ABOUT KALSEY KULYK:
Kalsey Kulyk has enjoyed a lifelong passion for music. Mixing effortlessly rich and bright vocals with lyrics you feel in the guts, Kulyk brings a fresh yet familiar sound to the country music airwaves. Kulyk got hooked on singing and playing the guitar at a young age, taking part in hundreds of talent shows and competitions and winning her first songwriting competition at age 13. When diagnosed with cancer in high school, Kulyk didn’t hit pause on her dreams. Her journey to recovery created songwriting inspiration, and the entire experience solidified Kulyk’s belief in a career in music. Now with an arsenal of songs and a survivor’s determination, Kalsey Kulyk is sharing her passions with the world. In remission for 15 years, her goals are clear. “What is life,” she says, “unless you’re doing what you love every single day?”
In 2017, Kulyk’s hard work paid off when she won both the Canadian Country Music Association’s Discovery Artist program and Anthem Entertainment’s (formerly ole) “On The Spot” contest on the same day. Winning the ole competition came with publishing and record deals, setting the stage for her to launch her career. These opportunities allowed her to hone her craft in the Country music capital, Nashville, collaborating with notable songwriters like Liz Rose (Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood) and Phil Barton (Lee Brice, Eli Young Band). These experiences culminated in her 2019 self-titled debut album, which reached #2 on the Canadian iTunes Country Chart and earned a nomination for CCMA Roots Album of the Year.
With a knack for versatility, Kulyk seamlessly navigates between poignant ballads and lively, feel-good anthems. She has collaborated with notable songwriters like Liz Rose (Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood) and Phil Barton (Lee Brice, Eli Young Band), culminating in her 2019 self-titled debut album, which reached #2 on the Canadian iTunes Country Chart and earned a nomination for CCMA Roots Album of the Year.
