18 DECEMBER 2013 (Toronto, ON) – 16-year old David Thibault of Saint -Raymond-de-Portneuf, QC, is a long-time Elvis fan and overnight sensation following his on-air interpretation of Elvis Presley’s holiday classic, Blue Christmas. The teenager’s performance on Quebec’s CKOI last week has led to an online viral video frenzy (presently at over seven million views and climbing) and subsequent international media attention, which has landed Thibault a performance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show for this coming Monday, December 23. Thibault has just produced a studio recording of the track which is at radio now and will be available for online streaming and digital purchase as of December 19 through Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Thibault’s love of The King’s music was nurtured by his grandfather and the young man has for some years been honing his performing chops, participating in several Elvis tribute contests. Thibault’s dead-on recreation of Elvis’ voice has drawn acclaim in his home province and will soon be shared much farther with the release of his recording and surely many more to come.
