(Toronto, ON. – 22 May 2013) – Pop songstress Demi Lovato’s fourth studio album Demi has debuted at #1 on the Canadian Nielsen Soundscan chart. Demi, released via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, is Lovato’s first ever #1 album debut in Canada and includes the platinum smash single, “Heart Attack”. Earlier this month, Lovato was the first performer announced for the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards, and is nominated in the Your Fave International Artist/Group and Video Of The Year categories. This marks Lovato’s first MMVA performance and nominations. The show airs live on Sunday, June 16 at 9 p.m. ET.Lovato co-wrote many songs on Demi, and the album is her most personal to date.
