ELLEN DOTY SHARES NEW SINGLE “MAYBE I KNEW” OFF UPCOMING ALBUM, COME FALL, OUT MARCH 2

ANNOUNCES EXTENSIVE CANADIAN TOUR IN SUPPORT OF ALBUM

19 JANUARY 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Soulful vocalist and songwriter Ellen Doty shares her new single, Maybe I Knew”, from her upcoming sophomore album Come Fall, out March 2 via Alma Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Doty is also set to embark on an extensive Canadian tour, starting at The Bella Concert Hall in Calgary on March 3, with full list of tour dates below.

Ellen Doty is one of Canada’s premiere young artists and songwriters. Her 2014 debut pop-jazz album, Gold, reached top 10 on numerous Canadian college radio charts, and was followed by a successful 42-date cross country tour. In the past year, she supported two-time Grammy-winner Gregory Porter, and recently completed a Western Canada concert theatre tour with award-winning saxophonist Eli Bennett from Vancouver.

On the new album, Doty seeks to strip the music down to its bare bones, leaving a raw and incredibly spacious sound. No bass. No background vocals. No horns. No layers. Just piano, voice, and drums. Come Fall captures a mixture of pop, jazz, soul, folk, and indie, a sound that is undoubtedly Doty’s.

Recorded at Sumbler House near Toronto with drummer Davide Di Renzo (Cassandra Wilson, Tom Cochrane, Molly Johnson, etc.) and pianist Mark Lalama (Kevin Breit, Sisters Euclid, Daniel Romano, etc.), Come Fall was recorded and mixed by Juno-award winning engineer, John “Beetle” Bailey. Available now for pre-order, the album also features co-writes with many notable writers including Justin Rutledge, Andy Stochansky, Danny Vacon (The Dudes), and more.
