27 MARCH 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Trailblazing British-Sudanese songwriter and vocalist Elmiene today releases his 12-track-debut album ‘sounds for someone’ including lead single ‘Lie With Me’ - out now, listen HERE.

Commencing with ‘Moment’, Elmiene softly opens the record, and opens his heart, through the slow, piano driven welcoming track. We’re asked to lower our guards, just as Elmiene has done. Setting the tone for the brave, honest 11 tracks to follow, the journey into the albums overarching themes of love, loss and longing begins now.

As we move through to the previously released tracks ‘Cry Against The Wind’, towards ‘Honour’, ‘Saviour’ and ‘Reclusive’, comes introducing strings that soothe and sore. Still delving and digressing into topics unapproachable to many, Elmiene skillfully targets topics of the heart, tied to endless beautiful melodies. Premiering as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record, and co-written alongside lauded songwriter & performer Sampha, ‘Saviour’ also featured as the final track released pre-album.

Speaking on the album, Elmiene notes: “I hope this album is a testament to the notion that people only die when they are forgotten.”

Introducing strings that simultaneously soothe and soar in ‘Time Doesn't Heal’, Elmiene unshakingly asks “How does it feel to take off your shoes as you dance through the field // How does it feel to let down your hair as you put down your shields”. He’s urging his interests to unclench their grip, and to enjoy the freedom that comes with vulnerability.

Through ‘Don’t Say Maybe’, ‘Special’ and ‘Lie With Me’, Elmiene shows off his soul / R&B mastery, while he continues to spin his unconventional, and genre-defying twists on the tracks. We come to ‘Light By The Window’ featuring GRAMMY Award–winning singer-songwriter Raphael Saadiq and penultimate track ‘Lonely People’. The tempo is slowed now, but the energy and the passion of the record remains.

Coming to a close, Elmiene gives us ‘Told You I’ll Make It’, a track that tackles grief, regret and heartbreak - but evolves to be a track of hope, love, and of second chances.

The album sounds for someone takes listeners on a deeply personal journey, tracing two decades of familial trials and triumphs that have profoundly shaped Elmiene’s personal worldviews, and sense of self. The record also features appearances from GRAMMY Award–winning singer-songwriter Raphael Saadiq, with production across the project coming from an impressive lineup including Sampha, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, and GRAMMY Award–winning producers No I.D., Raphael Saadiq, and others, adding rich depth and texture to the record’s emotional landscape.

Elmiene’s North American / Europe headline tour this Spring will visit 18 cities throughout the United States and Canada, as well as 7 cities throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. The North American tour kicks off on 30th April in Detroit, MI, and comes to a close in the US on 31st May Los Angeles, CA. He will later reignite the UK/EU tour in Amsterdam on 29th Nov and will visit Paris, Berlin, Manchester, Bristol, Brussels, and Manchester markets, coming to a close on the 8th December at London’s Eventim Apollo.

His Tiny Desk Concert has surpassed one million views, and a standout moment on The Terrell Show further showcased his R&B depth with a rendition of I Don't Ever Want to See You Again.
