25 JUNE 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — After months of anticipation and speculation, Katy Perry released "Watch It Burn" globally today alongside a stunning new music video that picks up exactly where "bandaids" left off.

Perry delivers a razor-sharp, emotionally unfiltered anthem about what happens when years of silence, people-pleasing, and "love and light" conditioning finally snap. At its core, "Watch It Burn" is about permission to feel anger honestly, to stop minimizing pain and let the suppressed emotions finally surface.

Produced by Justin Tranter (Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa), Jason Gill (Katseye, Zara Larsson), Eren Cannata (Teddy Swims, Demi Lovato) Daniel Crean (Katseye, Sofia Carson) and co-written by Katy alongside Tranter, Cannata, Crean, Gill, Amanda “Kiddo” Ibanez, and Skyler Stonestreet. “Watch It Burn” fuses Katy’s signature soaring vocals with raw vulnerability and explosive catharsis.

The music video, directed by Christian Breslauer (Ariana Grande, SZA, Lizzo), premiered simultaneously with the track’s release and made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and on the Paramount Times Square billboards.

The release also completes the story fans have been chasing since “bandaids,” was released last year. The sister tracks together form a complete emotional arc from part one: wound, to part two: release. First teased as an Easter egg in the “bandaids” music video, “Watch It Burn” became one of the most demanded unreleased songs in Katy Perry’s catalog.
