Announces Signing To Glassnote Records

Headlining Tour Includes Toronto Date

 

12 October 2017 (Toronto, ON) – Today Hamilton Leithauser releases new song “Heartstruck” (Wild Hunger) featuring Angel Olsen. Listen here. The song, written and produced by Leithauser, marks the first solo release on new label Glassnote Records, with more music to follow in 2018 via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

"This song is about catching yourself off guard when an emotion hits a little harder than you were ready for,” Leithauser says. “It’s a desperate and funny situation. The desperation can be a little bit ridiculous, which can be a little bit funny, but it's also desperate, so it’s agonizing.  I thought “Wild Hunger” should be delivered with huge passion and energy, and I needed a fierce and booming voice as a counterbalance. Luckily, I got my first choice: Angel Olsen."

Leithauser will hit the road next week with Stephen Patterson (Drums), Gregory Roberts (Bass), Eric Harvey (Keyboard) and Matt Oliver (Guitar) on a headline tour which includes a show at The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on October 30. For a full list of tour details visit the website.

Released last year, Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam’s album, I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, was named one of 2016’s Best Albums by Pitchfork, Esquire, A.V. Club, Entertainment Weekly, and more. Named Best New Music by Pitchfork, the album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseeker’s Chart, #1 New Artist Album, and Top 10 Alternative. Prior to his collaboration with Rostam, Leithauser released his solo album Black Hours in 2014 to critical acclaim.
