New Zealand Duo Co-Wrote Track With Lorde

Conscious Set For June 24 Release

10 JUNE 2016 (Toronto, ON) – “Heartlines” – a track from Broods’ forthcoming album, Conscious – was released today and can be streamed now on Spotify and VEVO. Zane Lowe gave the song its World First premiere yesterday on Apple Music Beats 1, calling it an “instant pop classic.” The duo co-wrote the track with fellow New Zealanders Lorde and Joel Little, and it’s one of their new album’s most potent pop moments. With a stomping beat and clapping synths, the song is an exuberant ode to jumping state lines, grabbing onto the one you love, and running towards whatever it is that makes you happy. Fans who pre-order Conscious will instantly receive “Heartlines” as well as “Couldn’t Believe” and the album’s anthemic first single, “Free.” Conscious will be released on June 24 via Capitol Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, and is available in CD, cassette and exclusive clear vinyl formats here. “Free,” already in the Top 30 at Alternative radio, has more than six million streams worldwide on Spotify and nearly 8 million streams worldwide across all platforms. The single has been certified Gold in Australia and New Zealand. The official video for “Free,” which has more than one million views, can be seen HERE.  Broods – composed of sibling duo Georgia and Caleb Nott – will kick off their North American headline tour in Washington, DC, and the summer run will include Canadian dates in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver this August, with details below. Conscious is the follow up to Broods’ 2014 debut album, Evergreen, which contained the singles “Bridges” and “Mother & Father” and climbed into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart. Joel Little (Lorde, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding), who produced Evergreen, served as Executive Producer on Conscious, producing many of the tracks. Additional producers include Broods, Alex Hope (Troye Sivan) and Captain Cuts.
