07 DECEMBER, 2023 (TORONTO, ON) - Today, multi-Latin GRAMMY award winner, J Balvin announced the release of his newest track titled “Amigos,” now streaming on all platforms. Reclaiming the sound of his musical roots, “Amigos,” delivers a sentimental reggaeton ballad that is truly J Balvin. Opening with a slow melodic beat and firm strings, he sings about the raw emotion and difficulties in dealing with a relationship that became cold. From this initial introduction, the song's tempo picks up and listeners are met with an upbeat cadence focusing on the journey of two lovers healing what once burned like fire. Sharing the sentiment that he has moved on and even though we want things to work out, they’re not always meant to be, and finding peace within that moment.
Accompanying the all-new track is a breathtaking cinematic music video directed by Patricia Alfonso and produced by Eat My Shorts – the camera follows J Balvin on a self-searching journey traveling through the frozen landscape of Matanuska Glacier National Park in Alaska. Fixated on making his way to the top, he endures the rough elements of the wild and within himself as he travels through the cold terrain making it to his destination to catch a glimpse of the aurora borealis filling his eyes with awe and helping him find peace at the end of it all.
