12 OCTOBER 2018 (Toronto, ON) - Today James Hersey returns with mesmerizing new single "Let Go," out now via Glassnote Records/Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company. The track features Austrian producer, long-time friend and collaborator filous, and is their first track together since filous’ successful single "How Hard I Try" in 2015.
"Let Go" is a moving, stripped-back production, which features understated acoustic melodies and warm bass throbs, all of which is complimented by James’ captivating vocal. On ‘Let Go’, James says: "This song is a showcase of something new for both of us. It's exciting because it came together so quickly that nothing about it is contrived or overcooked. It's a song for all the best friends out there, who always seem to know when to say the right thing, and how.”
Both hailing from Vienna, Austria - James and filous’ ongoing work together has seen both talented musician’s careers significantly propel through their collaborations. It all started in 2014 when filous remixed James’ track ‘Coming Over’ after discovering it on YouTube. filous’ remix of ‘Coming Over’ propelled both fairly unknown artists to become online sensations as the track became a viral hit - now on 51M Spotify streams. It was then relaunched by EDM heavyweights Kygo and Dillon Francis as a feature with James that reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart and received a Gold record in the US. After gaining notoriety for their first collaboration, James and filous returned to the studio to write ‘How Hard I Try’, which became filous’ most successful single to date with over 73M Spotify streams, and stayed in Germany’s top 40 radio airplay chart for 24 consecutive weeks. ‘Let Go’ follows on these collaborative footsteps as part of James’ highly anticipated second EP ‘Innerverse’ and comes hot off the heels of Hersey’s latest single ‘Real For You’, which has achieved over 2M Spotify streams and counting.
