06 FEBRUARY 2020 (TORONTO, ON) – Today, Jay Whiss, Toronto rapper and member of the hip hop collective Prime Boys, releases his latest single, “Lay Low” featuring Donnie. Produced by esteemed hip hop Atlanta producer Richie Souf (Future, Rich The Kid, ILOVEMAKONNEN), “Lay Low” is the second single Whiss has dropped since announcing his upcoming debut solo album. Listen to “Lay Low” featuring Donnie HERE.

The official video, directed by Joe Gunner, will go live this afternoon at 4pm EST on the Prime YouTube channel.

After dropping “Valet” last month (the Murda Beatz and Cubeatz produced track featuring Puffy L’z), Whiss continues to show love for his Toronto hip hop community by bringing fellow Prime Boys member Donnie onto “Lay Low” for a collaboration that showcases the smooth vibe of Whiss’s flow and Donnie’s lyrical swagger.

On creating “Lay Low”, Whiss said, “Richie flew in from Atlanta, we were locked in the studio for a few days. This was one of the many songs we did in those few days. Another one of them will also be on my album. Working with him was fun cause he’s just like us so it was super organic. Then Donnie went in and killed his verse. I’m just excited for people to hear it.”

On his upcoming debut album, set for release early this year via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, Whiss keeps the collaborations in the family. Close friends including Murda Beatz, Jimmy Prime, Donnie, 1mind, and Pro Logic contribute features and production. After months of being steady in the studio, Jay Whiss is eager to share his debut solo album and bring the Esplanade rap scene to the world. Further details about the album will soon be revealed.
