REYEZ WINS JUNO FOR 2018 BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST

"FIGURES" TOPS 70M GLOBAL STREAMS AND 20M GLOBAL VIDEO VIEWS

26 MARCH 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Jessie Reyez has skyrocketed into stardom over the past year and further proof was confirmed when she took home the prestigious Breakthrough Artist of the Year award at the 2018 JUNO Awards this past weekend in Vancouver. Reyez enlisted fellow Torontonian Daniel Caesar for a stunning new version of her breakout single, "Figures”, which the pair performed at the 2018 Juno awards.  The new track, "Figures, A Reprise", is available to stream and purchase on all participating digital retailers worldwide now via Republic Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

Critically acclaimed R&B and soul artist Caesar's honeyed vocals along with additional production make this a truly special reimagining of the pared-back acoustic track, which first catapulted Reyez into the spotlight, garnering over 20M views on YouTube and over 70M streams of the song worldwide.

The reprise comes after December's, "Cotton Candy", described as a "gorgeous song about heartbreak" by Pigeons & Planes, and October's "Phone Calls", which NYLON wrote, "will make you want to kiss the haters and skeptics in your life goodbye for good". "Figures", initially premiered by The FADER, is taken from Reyez's debut Kiddo EP, also containing the stand out tracks "Shutter Island" and "Gatekeeper". An accompanying short film for the latter exposed industry sexism and predatory behavior, receiving coverage from media including Noisey, Complex, Pigeons & Planes, SPIN, Jezebel, Billboard, MTV, BET, Rolling Stone, W, HITS, Interview and more.  Reyez made her late night TV debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing "Figures", and went on to premiere "Gate Keeper" on Late Night With Seth Meyers and "Figures” at the 2017 BET Awards.

Last summer Reyez was selected by superstar producer Calvin Harris for his track "Hard to Love" on his recent album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1. The video, shot in Paris, is now up to 27.7M views. Of Colombian heritage, she also appeared on the new album from a personal hero, Latin American superstar Romeo Santos. In October Jessie was picked as a global VEVO LIFT artist, with a host of video content dropping around this including a short documentary titled "Becoming", which explores her Colombian and Canadian roots.

Expect more music from this fierce new talent very soon.
