“Solipsism was the start of a 10-year exploration of our relationship to reality.
I’m grateful for what I’ve learned, for the people I’ve met, and for the
moments of peace this music still brings me”

22 AUGUST 2025 (TORONTO, ON) — Deutsche Grammophon celebrates the 10th anniversary of Joep Beving’s iconic debut album Solipsism with the release of Solipsism Redux – out today in digital and limited-edition vinyl versions. Beving’s reworkings of the original album’s 11 timeless, introspective tracks retain his essentially minimalistic style, adding further layers to the contemplative nature of what he has since called “simple music for complex emotions”.
“The fewer notes there are, the more space it leaves for the unspoken to shine through.
If something is very simple, then each note holds more weight.” – Joep Beving
In November 2025, Beving undertakes a 10th‑anniversary album tour of Europe, with dates in Germany, the UK, France, Portugal, The Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Hungary. Meanwhile, a 90‑minute live performance of Solipsism Redux filmed in January at ConcertLab, a state-of-the art venue in Utrecht, will be premiered exclusively on STAGE+ at 8pm CEST tomorrow, Saturday 23 August.
First released in August 2015 and reissued by DG in 2017 when Beving signed with the Yellow Label, Solipsism, written with no audience in mind and recorded in the pianist’s Amsterdam home, has achieved gold status and over 340 million streams to date. Beving himself has surpassed the landmark figure of one billion streams across his UMG catalogue and become one of the world’s best-loved and most frequently heard pianists.
