27 MARCH 2026 (TORONTO, ON) —  Multi-Grammy, Oscar, and Emmy Award-winning artist Jon Batiste joins forces with musician and innovative content creator Josh Harmon for a jazz-inspired reinterpretation of the “Song of Storms” from the acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time video game, set for release March 27. Originally featured in the 1998 classic action-adventure game, the beloved melody is transformed into a dynamic, improvisational jazz performance, blending Batiste’s impromptu piano playing with Harmon’s understated percussion. You can listen to the off the cuff jazz infused performance here.

“Josh is a kindred spirit. He loves classic video game themes, jazz, and New Orleans traditional music just as much as I do,” said Batiste.  “He’s also one of the most creative thinkers around, a brilliant drummer, and a joyful spirit in the world.  As a child of the ’90s growing up in New Orleans in a musical family, I would often play classic video game themes on instruments and musically rearrange them with my cousins Jamal and Travis.  I even recorded ‘Green Hill Zone’ for my Hollywood Africans album. One day, Josh and I should really do an entire album of these themes.”

On the rising popularity of the duo’s “Songs of Storms performance, Harmon, said “This recording represents what human-made music is all about. There was no rehearsal and no discussion of the arrangement beforehand – our version of ‘Song of Storms’ is something that happened spontaneously and, in the moment, in a way that’s only possible when real people get together to play music in real time. You can hear on the recording how much fun Jon and I are having. Even though the song is only 90 seconds long, the genuine joy heard on the track is the reason millions of people have already felt such a strong connection to it. That’s the power of music.”

The collaboration stems from a social media video created during Batiste’s BIG MONEY campaign, where Harmon, known for his boundary breaking percussion videos, published a video of the duo performing the track among other unrehearsed musical moments. The instrumental track highlights a creative crossover between video game music and contemporary jazz. The original full video of Jon’s appearance on Josh’s channel can be viewed here and the social clip that highlights “Song of Storms” can be viewed here.

Harmon, a drummer and content creator with over 23 million followers, is widely recognized for his one of kind sound-driven content and high-profile collaborations. A 2025 TIME100 Top Creator, Josh has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, collaborated with major A-listers, and starred in campaigns for leading global brands.

Batiste continues to expand one of the most wide-ranging bodies of work in contemporary music, spanning nine studio albums, an Oscar-winning film score, an original symphony and acclaimed projects across film, television, and live performance. Most recently, he debuted BIG MONEY (released August 2025 via Verve Records/Interscope), which earned the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards, marking his eighth Grammy win.

BIG MONEY capped a landmark year for Batiste in 2025 that also included his performance at Super Bowl LIX. The year prior, he released Beethoven Blues, which spent nine weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Classical Albums chart and topped Billboard’s Classical Crossover and Classical Albums charts for nine consecutive weeks.

Batiste is also gearing up for a run of symphonic performances across the country, with upcoming dates at Atlanta’s Chastain Park Amphitheatre on April 25, Denver’s Boettcher Concert Hall on May 9, a three-night engagement at Boston’s Symphony Hall on May 12, 13 and 14, as well as additional stops at the Filene Center in Vienna, VA on August 21 and the Washington State Fair in Puyallup, WA on September 18.
