14 FEBRUARY 2024 (TORONTO, ON) - Jordan Ward is expanding on his creativity with a new collaboration with Spotify that finds him covering Bob Marley & The Wailer’s classic song “Waiting in Vain” off the 1977 album, Exodus. The cover is part of Spotify Singles in collaboration with Soulection and arrives right in time for the Valentine’s Day holiday season. In a statement, Ward revealed the original record has been a favourite of his, and it’s only right he takes it on for Spotify’s Valentine’s Day campaign. LISTEN HERE.
"'Waiting in Vain' has been one of my favourite Bob Marley songs for years,” Ward said about the cover. “I’ve sang it Karaoke many times, and when Spotify asked me to cover a song, it was the obvious choice."
In addition to the Spotify Singles cover, Ward will also be performing a set at Spotify Frequency’s Valentine’s Day Event with Sweet One taking place in Los Angeles, California. The multi-hyphenate will also be heading back on the road for his Westward 2024 tour, which is slated to kick off on March 7 in Vancouver. Tickets are available on Jordan Ward’s official website.
Westward 2024 arrives a couple of months after Ward completed his sold-out Tourward ‘23 European tour. The international trek took Ward to London, Brussels, Cologne, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, and closed up shop in Berlin. Ward has also been on the road with JID, Smino and 6LACK in the past year.
Ward’s debut album FORWARD, which was released in March 2023, has been an astronomical success. FORWARD has landed on several year-end lists, including placements in NPR, Complex, LA Times, Rolling Stone, and more. To keep the momentum at a fever pitch, Ward unleashed a deluxe edition for the album titled moreward(FORWARD), which added “MUSTARD” featuring 6LACK, “WEBBIE” featuring Easton Fitz, and “ZOOMIES” to the 14-song tracklist.
