JULIA MICHAELS RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE “JUMP” FEATURING TRIPPIE REDD

SET TO JOIN MAROON 5 IN SUPPORT OF THEIR RED PILL BLUES TOUR THIS SUMMER, WITH A STOP IN TORONTO ON SEPTEMBER 27

04 May 2018 (Toronto, ON) - GRAMMY® Award-nominated and multi-platinum selling artist Julia Michaels returns with a brand-new single, “Jump (feat. Trippie Redd)” via Republic Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Coinciding with the release of the new track, is the accompanying lyric video which is available to view online HERE. The song heralds the arrival of her anxiously awaited full-length debut—coming soon.

“Jump” reteams Michaels with frequent producer Nick Monson and longtime co-writer Justin Tranter. On the track, ethereal production ignites a groundswell of energy as the singer’s breathy verses culminate on a huge hypnotic hook just before Ohio rap maverick Trippie Redd drops an emotive and engaging verse of his own.

Since emerging in 2015, Michaels has transformed pop not only from behind-the-scenes as a songwriter whose credits span everyone from Justin Bieber to Selena Gomez, but in the spotlight as a solo artist. Her rapid rise can be attributed to identifiable honesty in every lyric. Within just a year since arrival, she garnered 2018 GRAMMY® nominations in the categories of “Best New Artist” and “Song of the Year” for “Issues”. That honesty is also why “Issues” received a triple-platinum certification in Canada, cracked 1 billion global streams and consumption of 10 million, became “the top-selling debut single by any artist in 2017,” and was placed on Variety’s “30 Most Consumed Songs of 2017” as the only solo female contribution. It’s why the industry recognized her with nominations everywhere from American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards and RDMA’s to the MTV VMAS and MTV EMAS.

Extending and expanding her influence, she traffics at the forefront of numerous genres. Last year, Michaels lent her voice to Clean Bandit’s international hit, “I Miss You", which became her first Top 10 entry on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Dance Songs chart and she is currently featured on Keith Urban’s latest single, “Coming Home”, and rising artist Noah Kahan’s single, “Hurt Somebody”. Other upcoming collaborations include a duet and writing credits on Shawn Mendes’s upcoming album, songs on Christina Aguilera’s upcoming album, a co-writing credit for Janelle Monae’s latest, “Make Me Feel”, and a sample of her vocals on Migos’s “Gang Gang”. Moreover, she’s written on recent albums from P!nk, Maroon 5, and Jesse Ware.

Michaels continues to shine on stage as well. Following sold out shows alongside Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan overseas, she embarks on her first official U.S. tour, joining Maroon 5 for the Red Pill Blues Tour beginning this June which includes one Canadian date in Toronto on September 27. Full list of tour dates and ticket information available online at juliamichaelsofficial.com/tour.

“Jump” is just the beginning. Next up on May 18, Michaels is set to perform the new song on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and on the Today Show Summer Concert Series July 27. Be on the lookout for more soon!
