JUNO AWARD-WINNING DUO DEAR ROUGE RELEASES SOPHOMORE ALBUM, PHASES

STRING OF TOUR DATES ACROSS NORTH AMERICA

09 MARCH 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Today, Juno award-winning Canadian duo Dear Rouge return with the release of sophomore album, PHASES, available on all digital platforms via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. A follow-up to 2015’s, Black to Gold, the colourful PHASES includes previously released hits “Boys & Blondes” and “Modern Shakedown” and sees the pair collaborating with some of the industry’s most talented acts including Tawgs Salter and Mike Wise, West Coast stalwart Steve Bays, producer Ryan Worsley, pop savant Sterling Fox, and more. See below for full track listing.

About the album, Dear Rouge’s Danielle and Drew McTaggart said: “We are so thrilled to release PHASES out to the world. We didn’t rush our sophomore as we wanted to dig deeper and find a new step for Dear Rouge. This is a very important album for us. It is a snapshot of things that have been going on in our lives over the past few years. The emotions relating to the many ‘PHASES’ of life; beauty, excitement, love, sadness, pain, insecurity, confidence were deeply felt through the journey of making this record! We think it can resonate with many people and can’t wait to see how fans react to it.”

The first single released from the album, “Boys & Blondes” released October 2017 and was quickly added to Spotify’s most prominent playlists including New Music Now and Indie Pop, and Apple Music’s Best of the Week playlists. The lead single broke into top 10 at Canadian radio and is continuing to climb, currently sitting at number six. The duo will be making stops across North America this Spring as they open for Canadian Juno-Award winning artist LIGHTS and hit the stage at SXSW in Austin, Texas. See below for a full list of tour dates.

Since their debut in 2015 with critically-acclaimed album, Black To Gold, Dear Rouge has become one of Canada’s greatest acts with over 8 million streams globally, a #1 most added single at Canadian Alternative radio and an array of impressive accolades, including a Juno award for “Breakthrough Group of the Year” and the SOCAN Songwriter prize for their single “I Heard I Had”.

Formed in 2012, Danielle and Drew McTaggart are partners in life and music that channel their energies into honing their sinewy, hook-driven indie rock. Both Vancouver natives, the duo has spent their time most recently in New York City writing, recording and perfecting new music. Stay tuned for much more to come from Dear Rouge in 2018.
