01 NOVEMBER 2019 (TORONTO, ON) — Following a whirlwind entry into the world of cinema, experimental electronic and neo-classical composers Blitz//Berlin release their album Movements III today, via Wax Records. Recorded in Los Angeles in their newly constructed recording studio, the album consists of 12 original songs, showcasing the group’s sonic diversity. The album’s focus track “Nowhere” explores desolate, yet whimsical melodies, while “All The Floors Are Darkness”, an original track used in the trailer for blockbuster film The Girl In The Spider’s Web, features a haunting vocal by Leonard Cohen that evokes feelings of dystopian chaos. Additionally, Movements III features stunning instrumental scores, including “Ascension,” written as part of the original score for the film Oracle, which premiered at TIFF 2019 and won the Grand Prix at Montreal’s Festival du Nouveau Cinema.

Of Movements III, Blitz//Berlin member Martin Macphail comments, “Movements III is the first instrumental album we recorded since packing our lives into a van and moving across the continent to California. Our lives have mostly orbited around film music for the past year; this has pushed us to explore new sounds and textures. I hope it takes you on a journey. We always tend to write with a visual story in mind. For me, this one travels through stormy jungles, black sand beaches, and burning shipyards.”
