9 MAY, 2025 (TORONTO, ON) - Today, singer-songwriter Kalsey Kulyk releases her new single “Western Wind” via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The track arrives as a two-pack alongside a nostalgic cover of The Judds’ “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days).”

According to Kulyk, “Western Wind” is about “protecting your heart from someone you know could break it.”

“Western Wind was a song that I started myself and had to walk away from because I wanted to give it my all. So a month later I was in Nashville in the writers room with Patricia Conroy and Dave Thomson and I threw this song out there and they loved it.”

Alongside original track “Western Wind,” Kulyk is sharing her interpretation of The Judds “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days).” Following her nostalgic covers of “Cowboy Take Me Away” by The Chicks and “I May Hate Myself In The Morning” by Lee Ann Womack, these classic covers give fans insight into Kulyk’s musical inspirations.

“‘Grandpa’ was a song I used to sing all the time as a little girl,” Kulyk recalls. “Every time I hear this song or it pops in my head it feels like a warm blanket reminding me of my childhood. I hope you love my version and that it takes you back to good memories of growing up.”

Kulyk is set to open for Wynonna Judd later this year at the Energetic County Fair in Fort St. John, British Columbia, and is currently opening for Niko Moon’s These Are The Nights Tour, which wraps its Canadian leg on May 10 in Winnipeg.
