(Toronto, ON. - 26 June 2013) – Yeezus, the much-anticipated and critically acclaimed new album from global superstar Kanye West, has today debuted at #1 on the Canadian Nielsen Soundscan chart, selling more than 23,000 copies in its first week. Yeezus, released June 18 via Def Jam/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, features the tracks “Black Skinhead” and “New Slaves”.
Yeezus, which is executively produced by Rick Rubin, is Kanye’s sixth studio album and fourth #1 album debut in Canada following the platinum selling My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), and the double platinum selling albums Graduation (2007) and Late Registration (2005).
