“Le blues d’la métropole,” written in 1972, looks back on a three-year period between 1967 and 1970, describing the defining years of Montréal and the blues that followed. Band members Michel Rivard, Pierre Huet, Pierre Bertrand, and Robert Léger paint a portrait of a society that is evolving socially, and of the difficulties that Montréal was experiencing at the time.
On its first day of release in 1975, Où est passée la noce? was certified Platinum in Canada with over 100,000 album sales. This new remixed edition is the follow-up to the debut remix project Beau Dommage and will be released as part of the band’s 50th anniversary celebration. The closing track and longest song on the album, “Un incident à Bois-des-Filion,” was a key reason Beau Dommage was classified as a progressive rock band at the time by fans and critics. The song, which holds an impressive runtime of over 20-minutes, remains one of the band’s most popular and was a key featured track in the recent Beau Dommage Symphonic Tour performed by Orchestre Métropolitain, which launched in Québec on August 30.
The new edition of Où est passée la noce? was remixed by Ghyslain Luc Lavigne at the Studio Treatment Room in Montréal and was created with full approval and participation from the original band members.

Beau Dommage is considered Québec’s biggest-selling superstar band. They have achieved multi-platinum sales awards, have been recognized with a Canadian Postage Stamp and were inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017.
The group's first album Beau Dommage broke sales records upon its release in 1974. The next year, their second album Où est passée la noce? reached Platinum (as awarded by the CRIA before May 1, 2008, 100,000 units) on its first day of sales. The group enjoyed considerable success on its yearly tours of Europe between 1975 and 1978 and performed on numerous occasions in Québec and the rest of Canada.
The group disbanded in 1978 and reunited in 1984 to perform three times and produce a live album featuring Michel Rivard, Robert Léger, Pierre Bertrand, Réal Desrosiers, Michel Hinton, and Marie-Michèle Desrosiers. They reunited one last time in 1994 to produce a second self-titled album Beau Dommage and tour Québec and Europe in 1995. They showed up during the 2005 Francofolies in Montréal when many artists decided to honour them.
On July 19, 2013, Canada Post issued a first-class commemorative postage stamp depicting the seven members of Beau Dommage. It sold in booklets of 10, or as part of a souvenir sheet of four alongside Rush, The Guess Who, and The Tragically Hip. Beau Dommage was also honoured in Le Blues d’la Métropole, a musical based on the band’s songs, and Le monde est fou, a show by the legendary Cirque du Soleil paying homage to their lyrics and music.
In 1995, Beau Dommage won the Félix Award for Group of the Year, presented by ADISQ. They were nominated at the Juno Awards in 1975, in 1976 for Group of the Year and Best-Selling Album, and in 1996 for Best Selling Francophone Album.
In 2022, they celebrated their 50th anniversary by releasing a remixed edition of their debut self-titled album and in November 2024, they will release a remixed edition of their second album Où est passée la noce? via Universal Music Canada.
