“An amazing artist who refuses to be bound by genre.” ( MTV)

“Accessible pop tunes delivered on a bed of Caribbean-flavored progressions, and a development of vision —moving from mash-ups to self-penned tunes—have secured DiPasquale as an artist of interest across stages and airwaves. “  (ArtistDirect)

8 APRIL 2016 (Toronto, ON) –Lucas DiPasquale unveils his newest single today, “Pager,” the first offering from his upcoming debut, full-length album via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.  “Pager” cements the distinct sound that has captured fans, complete with his unique patois sound and his acoustic guitar in hand.  Lucas reflects on the importance of staying connected. Half written while he was in college and then completed during a visit to Jamaica, Lucas explains of the song, “I’m really paging everyone to remind them of their responsibilities.” One of Spotify’s Spotlight Artists for 2016, as well as a Tidal Discovery Artist, Lucas’ stock has continued to rise since his debut over a year ago. His energy-pumping dancehall single, “Do It Like,” racked up over 400K views on YouTube and it reached #1 on the Urban Music Charts in the UK. His nostalgic coming-of-age video for single, “Speech,” has quickly surpassed 100K views since its April release. With over 1 million streams on Spotify and 1.5 million views across his Youtube channel, Lucas has gained a tremendous following as he proves he has a lot to offer as a singer-songwriter. In 2014, Lucas became an overnight success when his acoustic mashup of songs by the Jamaican artist Popcaan went viral.  Popcaan and him went on to share the hit track, “No Talking,” and Lucas has gone on to collaborate with various dancehall heavyweights, including Stylo G, Kardinal Offishall, Konshens and Assassin. For his debut EP, Post Secondary , which was released on Oct. 9, 2015, Lucas teamed up with producer Stephen McGregor (Sean Paul, Bounty Killer) and Mojam (Sam Smith, Emeli Sande), the album was recorded at the infamous Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica, as well as in Toronto and London. Lucas has been championed by notable media outlets, including Buzzfeed, The Guardian and The FADER – plus, he has made appearances worldwide, with performances at Dream Weekend (Negril, JA), Reggae Fest (Toronto, CA), Nothing Goes (New York, NY) and Notting Hill Carnival (London, UK).  In March, Lucas performed at SXSW Official Showcase in Austin, which garnered him significant visibility with Complex and ATypicalSounds, among others. Setting the tone for his upcoming music the radio friendly track “Pager,” Lucas is ready to showcase his growing talents as a songwriter.
