20 APRIL 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Almost 10 years after its debut, Juno-nominated alt-rockers, Mother Mother announce a flurry of activity surrounding one of their most celebrated albums to date, O My Heart. The new live version, O My Heart: Live Sessions features six live off the floor versions of the album’s most beloved songs, and is available now on all digital platforms via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. In addition to its standard format, O My Heart: Live Sessions is also available on a limited-edition picture disc vinyl. The original version of O My Heart arrived on September 23, 2008, and quickly became an indie-rock fan favourite. Since its release, the album has amassed almost 6 million global streams. Frontman Ryan Guldemond shares, “Every band that’s been around a while has its classic album, and O My Heart is ours. We owe it a lot, as it paved the way for so much to come. But mostly we owe it to the fans for digging the music and giving us a reason to carry on. This anniversary is a celebration of them, much more than it’s a celebration of us. We’re just delighted to host the party.”
In support of the re-release, Mother Mother also announce a series of seven nostalgic and intimate live dates in select markets across Canada. The band invites fans to experience all the tracks on O My Heart from front to back, with new energy and enthusiasm. Mother Mother has had ten Top 10 alternative pop singles to date. Their most recent album, No Culture, debuted at #1 for alternative, #2 overall, and is nearing 10M streams on Spotify. The album also includes the band’s first #1 single at alt radio, “The Drugs”, as well as hits “Love Stuck” and “Baby Boy”. No Culture’s success paved the way for a sold-out coast-to-coast tour, including a record-setting five sold out shows at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, and a sold-out show at Toronto’s historic Massey Hall.
