27 FEBRUARY 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – Multi-platinum pop artist Preston Pablo ushers in a new chapter today with the release of “Cause I Do,” his first new music of 2026, via 31 East and Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

On “Cause I Do,” Preston reunites with frequent collaborators Banx & Ranx, alongside Keith “Ten4” Sorrells of The Orphanage (John Legend, Demi Lovato) and Oscar Linnander of The Orphanage (Jessie Murph, Kehlani). The result is a remarkably catchy, emotionally resonant pop record that captures longing, uncertainty, and the quiet comfort of knowing you’re not alone in how you feel.

Marking his first original release since his 2024 debut EP Anywhere But Here, home to the viral hit “Dance Alone,” “Cause I Do” finds Preston feeling more confident in his artistry than ever. For this new era, he returned to his DIY bedroom music-making roots, creating on his own terms in a remote studio with a tight-knit, trusted group of collaborators.

About “Cause I Do,” Preston says, “It lives in that space of sadness and insecurity, missing someone, but wondering if they miss you too. There’s something comforting about that thought, knowing you might not be alone in feeling the way you do. It brings a sense of peace.”

He continues: “The production is simple but big. The drums are really the heartbeat of the song; they keep it moving and give it life. The guitar line is sweet and nostalgic, pulling on the right heartstrings. Everything about this song is meant to evoke emotion.”

Preston Pablo is best known for his chart-topping single “Flowers Need Rain,” which earned him the 2023 JUNO Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and was the #1 most Shazamed song of Summer 2022 in Canada. His follow-up smash “Dance Alone” cracked the Top 10 at Canadian radio across all formats and has since inspired over 450,000 user-generated TikTok videos, further cementing his reputation as one of Canada’s most compelling pop voices.

With “Cause I Do,” Preston Pablo takes a confident step forward, offering the first glimpse of a new sound and creative direction he’ll continue to unveil throughout 2026.
