Co-written by Lindsay Ell, Mags Duval, and Teddy Reimer and produced by Ell’s close collaborator Doug Schadt, “magic” shares Ell’s perspective on perseverance over a steady, pulsing rhythm, echoing the belief that even in life’s darkest times, a breakthrough may just be waiting for you on the other side.
“I always believed that if you apply yourself to something hard enough, you can make it happen,” Lindsay Ell shares. “‘magic’ is a reminder to believe that you just need to keep going and you’ll find those moments of joy and accomplishment.”
Adding to her catalogue of relatable, vulnerable, and honest songwriting, Ell’s upcoming fence sitter EP explores themes such as knowing when to let go, reclaiming her truth, questioning motherhood, and keeping faith in herself. The striking collection of songs show Ell boldly following the path she began with last year’s EP love myself as she continues to peel back the layers of her heart and mind with evocative vocals, cathartic pop melodies, and her signature guitar solos.
Known for her virtuosic guitar work and magnetic stage presence, Lindsay Ell has spent the summer performing her powerful pop anthems to fans across the U.S. and Canada and has graced stages alongside Shania Twain as her lead guitarist – a role Ell has proudly held since 2024. Last week, Ell returned to her hometown for an electric performance at The Calgary Stampede before making her way east, playing to fans across Canada. This weekend, Ell takes the stage at Festival D’Été de Québec and Ottawa Bluesfest before heading to Toronto for two back-to-back shows and continuing to tour throughout August. About Lindsay Ell:
Lindsay Ell’s decade-long career as an artist and songwriter boasts three #1 hit songs, a Platinum-certified single, and over 400 million streams. Ell is a CCMA Award winner with nominations from the CMA Awards, ACM Awards, CMT Awards, JUNO Awards, and over 20 CCMA Award nominations.
Lindsay Ell’s highly anticipated 2024 EP love myself (her debut release with Universal Music Canada and the first project she co-produced), marked the beginning of her evolved sound. With authenticity shining through both her lyrics and her music, she entered a new, liberated chapter of her career by crafting her most autobiographical music to date.
A generational talent, Ell has always felt at home on stage. Beginning her touring career at age 10, Lindsay Ell has brought her electric live performance style to audiences across the US, Canada, Europe, and the UK with her headlining tours and alongside artists such as Keith Urban, OneRepublic, and Maren Morris. Since 2024, Lindsay Ell has proudly assumed the role of lead guitarist on her childhood hero Shania Twain’s “Come on Over” international tour and Las Vegas residency.
2025 saw Lindsay Ell return for her fourth consecutive season as the exuberantly warm-hearted host of Canada’s highest-rated reality program Canada’s Got Talent, which has earned her two consecutive Canadian Screen Award nominations.
In addition to her multi-faceted talent, Lindsay Ell’s philanthropy and advocacy have earned her prestigious recognition in both Canada and the US. In 2024, she received the CCMA’s Music Humanitarian Award in recognition of her work with her Make You Movement, a charitable fund she launched in 2020 after coming forward as a sexual assault survivor. In partnership with the Community Fund of Middle Tennessee, The Make You Movement fund supports disenfranchised youth, specifically victims of sexual and domestic violence. Ell is also a dedicated supporter of the LGBTQIA2+ community, having worked with organizations such as The Rainbow Railroad and GLAAD, most recently performing at GLAAD’s 2025 Concert for Love & Acceptance in Nashville to kick off Pride month. Lindsay Ell has also courageously shared her story of recovery from an eating disorder. In 2024, she was a guest speaker and panelist at the Clinton Global Initiative’s 2024 Annual Meeting in New York City and last month, she was the official MC for World Eating Disorders Action Day at the United Nations. The Calgary-born, Nashville-based super talent has bravely brought her resilient outlook to the forefront with one mission: to empower and advocate for others.
