ALBUM SETS RECORD FOR HIGHEST SINGLE WEEK DIGITAL SALES

03 OCTOBER 2012 (TORONTO, ON)—Mumford & Sons’ second album, Babel, released through Gentlemen of the Road/Glassnote/Universal Music Canada (UMC), the country’s leading music company, has today debuted at #1 on the Nielsen SoundScan charts with sales in excess of 74,000 units. This accomplishment also marks a new Canadian record in having sold the greatest number of digital copies in a single week, with over 48,000.   Produced once more by Markus Dravs, Babel is the follow-up to the band’s 2009 debut release, Sigh No More, which today remains in the Top 20 of the Current Album chart and has sold over 268,000 copies life to date. Babel’s platinum-certified first single, “I Will Wait” debuted at #1 on  the Nielsen SoundScan digital singles chart in August and is currently #1 on the ALT Radio chart.
