Nick Murphy Releases New Short Film, Missing Link, Featuring Music from his 2017 Missing Link EP

09 January 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Singer/producer Nick Murphy has released his short film, Missing Link, co-written and directed by Murphy and Australian filmmaker/musician Johann Rashid. “2017 was a year of risk and exploration,” notes Murphy. “To say thank you, here is a film I made with my good friend Johann Rashid.” The eight-and-a-half-minute artistic film features music from Murphy’s 2017 Missing Link EP including “Your Time”, his collaboration with KAYTRANADA. Last May’s release of Murphy’s Missing Link EP was the first music he has shared since announcing that he’ll record and perform under his given name and step away from his Chet Faker moniker. The EP bridges the sonic shift between who he was as an artist and what’s next for him as Nick Murphy.

 As Chet Faker, Murphy’s album Built on Glass received wide critical acclaim and the video for “Gold” has received over 100 million views to date. He performed the track on national TV including Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and has performed multiple sold out headlining shows and major festivals across the globe. Next month, Murphy will embark on an Australian tour with LCD Soundsystem.
