Nick Murphy Releases New Track, “Medication”, Today

 

Headline Fall Tour Resumes Today with Vancouver Show

 

10 October 2017 (Toronto, ON) – Today Nick Murphy releases his new track “Medication” as he kicks off the second leg of his fall North American tour. Of the song, Murphy notes, "It's a song about ignorance and flawed logic. I wanted to see what it was like writing about ego-fueled confidence." Murphy also sat down with Noisey to discuss the new song, tour, and his evolution from Chet Faker to Nick Murphy. “Medication” is available now via Downtown/Interscope/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

The New York-based Australian producer & musician’s new live show has been winning fans over across the continent. Consequence of Sound recently noted, “Murphy spared nothing when it came to visuals and sound. What we heard was deep and resounding, a statement performance to make a new (albeit his actual) name for himself.”

Murphy released his Missing Link EP in May, his first release since announcing that he’ll record and perform under his given name and step away from his Chet Faker moniker. The collection bridges the sonic shift between who he was as an artist and what’s next for him as Nick Murphy. As Chet Faker, Murphy’s album Built on Glass received wide critical acclaim and the single “Gold” has received almost 100 million views to date.
