14 OCTOBER 2022 (TORONTO, ON) – Today, critically-acclaimed Vermont singer and songwriter Noah Kahan releases his long-awaited new album Stick Season via Mercury Records/Republic Records/Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company—listen HERE.

Noah says, “This album is a love letter to New England, and an attempt to paint an honest picture at what it’s like to live in a small town. Living in isolation in Vermont was incredibly challenging, but it brought about a unique perspective on small town life. These 14 songs help tell that story.”

On the new single “Growing Sideways,” Noah explains, “For years, I went to therapy and just wasted hours trying to make meaningless small talk so I could leave and say I was making progress. For so much of my life, I was just kicking a can down the road instead of facing my problems head on. ‘Growing Sideways’ is about that realization.”

The album, which Billboard praises as “his most vulnerable yet,” arrives in the wake of Noah’s viral singles “Stick Season” and “Northern Attitude.” Since its release this summer, “Stick Season” has amassed over 60 million global streams, soared to #1 on the Spotify Viral Songs Chart, and continued to climb up the AAA Radio Chart, currently sitting in the Top 10 at #7. “Northern Attitude,” released last month, has also quickly gained traction, with over 7 million global streams to date and a Top 25 debut on the Viral Songs Chart this week.

Today, Noah releases the official music video for “Stick Season,” which was shot in his hometown of Strafford, Vermont. The cinematic visual features breathtaking scenery of the small town on the cusp of changing seasons and local landmarks that served as his creative inspiration while writing and recording the album—watch HERE.

On the inspiration behind the video, Noah shares, “Shooting this video in Strafford, Vermont was a special experience. Being able to show the world my hometown was an amazing feeling.”

On Monday October 17th, Noah is set to appear on CBS This Morning with a captivating in-depth interview and live performances shot around his hometown.

This week, Noah kicked off his sold-out North American “Stick Season Tour” with Adam Melchor as support. The 2022 string of shows run through November, with a second leg of tour dates added in 2023 that are quickly selling out—see the complete list of tour dates below. Remaining tickets are on-sale now HERE.

This new sonic chapter arrives on the heels of Noah’s 2021 sophomore album I Was / I Am. Following the album release and Fall 2021 “I Was / I Am Tour,” Noah continued to write and record, unlocking a new level of himself as an artist and songwriter. Rife with fluttering guitar melodies, inviting vocals, and homey imagery of the Northeast on the verge of a change of seasons, “Stick Season” represents another massive turning point for him. Noah first tested out the song live on tour last year to a rousing response, and a fan’s video of the moment circulated quickly online. After performing the track live on social media, his fans reacted immediately, and followers relentlessly commented about releasing it. In an instant, Kahan’s relationship with his career was altered, his conviction for storytelling and a pursuit of a more organic sound that aligned with the folk music of his upbringing had firmly arrived.

ABOUT NOAH KAHAN

As Noah Kahan changes, he casts those experiences onto songs like light through a film projector. At the core of the music’s upbeat energy and unfiltered lyrics, you’ll hear who he was before and who he became—almost in real-time. The Vermont singer still pens songs straight from the heart and still cracks jokes with his signature, self-deprecating sense of humor; he’s just changed in all of the right ways (and chronicled them via his songwriting). He gained that understanding through quite the journey from small town Vermont to global renown. He’s racked up over one billion streams, released two full length albums (Busyhead, 2019 and I Was / I Am, 2021) and a mid-pandemic EP (Cape Elizabeth, 2020), picked up a Gold Certification for “Hurt Somebody” feat. Julia Michaels, and performed on television shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and TODAY. Not to mention, he’s collaborated with everyone from Joy Oladokun to Chelsea Cutler to mxmtoon to Quinn XCII to Gryffin. After 5 years of critical acclaim and global touring, he sought an even purer style of writing and arrangement, a challenge from within to convey a vivid representation of what he loves, fears, and struggles with most passionately. Now, Noah continues to progress on his 2022 singles “Stick Season” and “Northern Attitude,” taken from his highly anticipated new album Stick Season out now.
