22 AUGUST 2025 (TORONTO, ON) — Today, pianist, podcaster, and certified breathwork educator Chad Lawson announced his new EP Where We Are, Together, a three-song collection reimagining songs from his 2024 album Where We Are. The EP, arranged by Geoff Lawson, features stunning collaborations with VOCES8, Esther Abrami, Seth Parker Woods, Ashley Jackson, and the lyrics by Rupi Kaur. In honor of World Mental Health Day 2025, Where We Are, Together will be released on October 10 via Decca Records US.
The lead single “Solace (Together),” out now, features an excerpt from Rupi Kaur’s The Sun and Her Flowers set to music and arranged for vocal ensemble VOCES8 and two-time Grammy-nominated cellist Seth Parker Woods.
“Where We Are, Together was created for World Mental Health Day,” states Lawson, the first musician UN ambassador for the World Federation for Mental Health. “At its core, it’s about something simple; how healing feels a little more possible when we don’t feel so alone. I didn’t want this to be a solo project. I wanted it to feel shared. Like something made with others, not just by me.”
“VOCES8, Esther Abrami, Seth Parker Woods, Ashley Jackson, Morgan Harper Nichols, and the lyrics by Rupi Kaur each brought something honest and deeply human to this release. That’s really what the title means. Not just where I am, but where we are. Together, because being human was never meant to be a solo act.”
“Solace (Together)” follows Lawson's latest single “Where There Is Hope” which was released on July 12 to commemorate the inaugural International Day of Hope, a newly designated United Nations observance aimed at combating rising hopelessness by offering free resources, evidence-based strategies, and simple actions anyone can use to build emotional resilience and foster collective wellbeing.
Where We Are, Together furthers Lawson’s mission to raise awareness for vital mental health initiatives. In May, to mark Mental Health Awareness Month, he released Where We Are: Unity Edition, a comprehensive expansion of last year’s Where We Are featuring a brand new track, “You’re My Everything” as well as the new reworks and additional tracks from Lawson’s recent EP releases, Where We Are: Sleep Reworks and The Light Within. The Light Within was released in October of last year and made in collaboration with the World Federation For Mental Health and features the World Mental Health Day theme song that Lawson composed, “The Light Within.”
Lawson’s music has struck a chord with listeners worldwide, with plays of his recordings totaling over a billion streams. Where We Are, released last year via Decca Records US, consists of original solo piano works inspired by messages from his fans about how his music has affected their lives. Chad was invited on NPR’s Weekend Edition to discuss the record and how he hopes listeners can benefit from it.
Lawson is known for exploring this intersection between music and wellness with chart-topping contemporary classical releases and his iHeart Radio Award-nominated podcast Calm It Down, which explores mental health topics and meditation techniques soundtracked by Chad’s music. The podcast has become a hit in its own right, with over 6 million downloads to date and honored in the 'Health, Wellness and Lifestyle' category of the 2024 Webby Awards.
Beyond concert halls and performing arts centers, Lawson is often invited into corporate offices to do presentations and meditation/breathwork workshops to help bring some relaxation into employees’ lives. Chad has participated in these events at the offices of Amazon, Nike, and Peloton, among others. Lawson also has been teaming up with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation and their Seacrest Studios to bring music and breathwork to patients in children's hospitals across the United States.
Throughout his career, Lawson’s presence has coursed through popular culture with placements on The Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries, and Viceland, the score of Prime Video’s Lore as well as campaigns for Chevrolet, IBM, Microsoft, Purina, Delta, and more. He has appeared on CBS Sunday Morning, NPR’s All Things Considered, and GRAMMY.com’s Positive Vibes Only. In 2022, he presented his double-album breathe in conjunction with National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. Forbes hailed the LP as “melodic and soothing,” and Variety christened him one of the artists who “lead the wave of music for slumber and relaxation.”
