12 JANUARY 2024 (TORONTO, ON) - Today, ADISQ-winning pop artist Eli Rose announces the deluxe version of her sophomore album, Hypersensible, set to release January 26 through Maison Barclay Canada/Universal Music Canada. The deluxe edition will feature two brand new songs including “Les Etoiles” which was released today ahead of the deluxe record. Listen now to “Les Etoiles” HERE.
Hypersensible was released in October of last year as a deeply personal reflection that she once reserved only for her diary. Upon release, Eli’s vulnerability was celebrated by the likes of La Presse, Le Journal and radio stations across the country, while gracing the cover of many playlists and claiming a coveted billboard in Yonge & Dundas square in Toronto. The deluxe version of the record allows Eli to open up even further, sharing two tracks from the original recording sessions “Zen” and the latest release “Les Etoiles.” The track was produced by Tom Lapointe (Zaho, Karim Ouellet) and, in true Eli Rose fashion, takes deeply personal subject matter and covers it in sparkling pop hooks.
On Hypersensible, Eli previously commented: “I worked for almost 3 years on this album, which was done slowly, at first, because I started writing in the middle of the pandemic and in the midst of my pregnancy. Despite everything, this album was extremely therapeutic for me. I felt like I could finally reveal who I really am. It’s an album that speaks to the “I”, but as Gaële would say, the “I” is inclusive. I think it’s important to talk about the emotions you feel. Being vulnerable is not synonymous with fragility. I sincerely believe that being hypersensitive is a superpower and in these difficult times, empathy and compassion are what bring us closer to our humanity.”
Throughout the album, Eli collaborated with her trusted producers Ruffsound and RealMind, who spearhead most of the tracks. Their sonic journey leads us through introspective 80s vibes, exemplified by the lead single “1994,” and dances through light reggaeton infused with the spirit of flamenco in “As de cœur.” Eli also joins forces with Connor Siedel (known for his work with Charlotte Cardin) on the captivating album opener, “Vendredi soir,” and partners with Max-Antoine Gendron (noted for his contributions to Marie-Mai) for the radiant “Bleu ciel.” Additionally, Eli embraces collaboration with her friend A.C., a Grammy-nominated producer based in Montréal, whose work with Shakira and Karol G adds an exciting dimension to the track “Libre.”
Notably, mega-producer Nk.F (responsible for hits by PNL and Angèle) makes a triumphant return as one of Eli’s most crucial collaborators. Nk.F masterfully engineers, records, and transforms Eli’s crystalline vocals, infusing them with energy that melds seamlessly with hard-hitting beats crafted by hip-hop minded producers.
The lasting impression left by Hypersensible is of Eli’s honed song writing abilities, revealing itself in pristine form. This album serves as the ideal conduit for her to confront past traumas and navigate current challenges, allowing listeners to gain a clear understanding of Eli’s artistic identity and her lofty aspirations: she’s poised to soar even higher than before.

After exploring the aftermath of a love story gone bad on her debut, Eli Rose is ready to expose the most intimate recesses of her soul, sharing thoughts plucked straight from the pages of her diary.
This much needed process of self-reflection came at the tail end of whirlwind year, which saw her sharing stages with pop luminaries such as Angèle and Jaïn while leaving a lasting mark on the Quebec market. Her singles “Carrousel”, “Soleil” and “Emmène-moi” garnered massive airplay and an impressive 26 million global streams, a rare feat for a Francophone artist. Eli also saw her work rewarded with prestigious accolades, including the coveted Révélation de l'année (“Breakthrough artist”) at Gala de l'ADISQ in 2020 and Chanson francophone Populaire de l’année (“Pop Song of the Year”) at Gala SOCAN for “Carrousel”. She also won the Prix premier album at Rencontres de l’ADISQ – awarded to a debut album that made the biggest impact on Quebec commercial radio – two years in a row, in 2020 and 2021.
Allowing herself a break to reconnect with herself and taking time to bond with her newborn child, Eli realized she still had a lot of music in her and began to work on new material, allowing herself to look back on her professional journey while assessing her role in an industry that can be both rewarding and punishing.
This process of self-reflection and reinvention was by no means a solitary journey: after working on her lyrics with Gaële, one of Quebec’s premier songwriters, she assembled a dream team of Montreal’s finest beatmakers and producers. Through these numerous collaborations, Eli Rose continued to grow as an artist, affirming her singular voice in the Canadian pop landscape.
