UPCOMING FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES THIS WEEKEND AT
OSHEAGA AND LOLLAPALOOZA

01 AUGUST 2025 (TORONTO, ON) – Pop’s rising it-girl Sofia Camara releases her new single “Parking Lot” today via 21 Entertainment and Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, with international support from Mercury Records in the US and Polydor Records in the UK.

’Parking Lot’ came from one of those moments where grief and anger blur together, and you can’t tell if you’re mad at someone or just heartbroken that they’re gone,” says Sofia Camara about the new release. “It’s about the mental gymnastics we do to protect ourselves – making someone the villain just so it’s easier to let go. This song is me owning the ugly parts of healing, the tears cried in cars, the things we say that we don’t mean, and the threads of hope we hold onto when we know something’s over. It’s messy, it’s real, it’s honest, and I think a lot of people will see a piece of themselves in this song.”

The emotional new track – co-written with and produced by Mike Wise, Nathan Ferraro, and Lowell – is Camara’s latest collaboration with the award-winning team behind her breakthrough song “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent).” Most recently, Camara teamed with Wise, Ferraro, and Lowell for her radio hit “Girls Like You,” which was the #1 most added song to Canadian Top 40 radio during the week of June 16, 2025. “Girls Like You” is Camara’s first song to earn airplay on BBC Radio 1 Future Pop, with the host saying it’s “super catchy” and “just the perfect pop song.”

“Parking Lot” serves as a return to Camara’s signature heart-wrenching ballads, further cementing her as one of the top rising balladists in the world today. It arrives ahead of her debut festival performances this weekend on the main stage of Osheaga in Montréal on Saturday, and at the BMI stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Sunday.

Last month, Camara treated fans with a new two-pack for Spotify Singles, delivering an official acoustic version of “Girls Like You” and a cover of Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True.” The exclusive release with Spotify celebrates her ongoing success on the platform, surpassing over 2 million monthly listeners. Overall, Camara has amassed over 88 million audio streams across all platforms.

The 23-year-old rising pop star takes off on her headline Healing Hearts Tour in October in Europe, including sold-out dates in Amsterdam, Berlin, Birmingham, and more. Tickets sold out quickly in most cities and have now been upgraded to larger venues.

Previously, Camara supported Alex Warren and Dean Lewis across their respective sold-out European tours, and Shawn Desman on his Canadian tour.

Stay tuned for many more exciting announcements from Sofia Camara throughout the year.

ABOUT SOFIA CAMARA:
For Sofia Camara, music has always been more than its sound or the feeling that emerges when she strikes the right chord. In her world, sometimes full of uncertainty, noise, and emotion that manifests from places she’d never thought possible, it can be her anchor—the one thing that continually makes sense in a world that often doesn’t.

The viral success of “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)”— now boasting over 44 million global streams—shattered the glass ceiling, launching her into a whirlwind of career-firsts and achievements that followed just as quickly. She took it all in stride—joining Dean Lewis and Alex Warren on their respective European & UK tours, and standing centre stage at the 2024 CFL Grey Cup, where she delivered a gripping performance of the Canadian national anthem. Her beautifully reimagined take of Nickelback’s “What Are You Waiting For?” became the official 2025 IIHF World Junior championship song, further cementing her presence on major stages. But her most defining moment yet was stepping into the spotlight on her own terms—selling out her first headline shows across Europe. As she continues writing new chapters of her story, Sofia rides the high of it all, knowing that wherever her music takes her next, the whole world will be singing along with her.

Her spellbinding ability to reimagine and interpret songs in a way that feels reinvigorating—almost like you’re listening to the song for the first time again— has earned recognition from artists like Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Tate McRae, Gracie Abrams, and more.

With the release of her debut EP Was I(t) Worth It?, Sofia delivers a body of work that represents who she is at this stage in her career, with the hope that listeners will walk away feeling seen and understood. The multi-track debut EP is a culmination of the experiences, emotions, and stories she’s carried with her since the dream of becoming a musician became her reality, with each song reflecting a different chapter of her legacy.
