THE REKLAWS RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “LONG LIVE THE NIGHT”

18 MAY 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Today, Canadian country duo The Reklaws release the music video for their latest single, “Long Live The Night”, via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Directed by MTV Video Music Award, JUNO Award, and Much Music Video Award winning Ben Knechtel (Carly Rae Jepson, Nikki Yanofsky, James Barker Band) the video was shot in multiple locations, including Toronto country bar, Rock’N’Horse Saloon in Toronto.

On the video, The Reklaws said. “We thought the music video for ‘Long Live The Night’ was the perfect match for the song itself. We tried our best to capture all the best elements of a night out with friends, to memorable summer nights that started off ordinary but ended up taking you into hotel pools, or college football stadiums. Our goal for this video was to make everyone feel like they were out for a night with us. Shooting this was an absolute blast and felt so special because we got to shoot part of it at our favorite country bar in Toronto with a great group of fans. Hopefully they got a good taste of what a Reklaws night is like!”

The “Long Live The Night” music video was exclusively premiered on May 16 with Apple Music, where the video climbed the charts landing at #1 on Apple Music’s Country page and is currently #5 on Apple Music’s Top Videos all-genres chart. The title track of their latest EP arrives as the follow-up to The Reklaws’ debut single, “Hometown Kids”, which quickly charted at #15 on Canadian Country radio and #11 on the Spotify Canada Viral 50 during release week in June 2017. The hit track also garnered over 1 million Spotify streams and major playlist adds including Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s “PM Mix”.

Re-introducing themselves with their major label debut at Universal Music Canada, The Reklaws kicked off summer 2017 with their chart-rattling single, Hometown Kids – a summer anthem for all the small town kids of their generation. In February 2018, the pair released their first EP Long Live the Night – a three-track EP made up of the anthemic title track “Long Live The Night” which is on it’s way to top 10 at Canadian country radio, the satirical Stuart Walker led track, “Wish You Were Beer” featuring label mates James Barker Band, and “Last Call” sees Jenna Walker taking the lead on the cheeky ‘girls night out’-worthy jam. The Reklaws will be performing a string of show dates across Canada this summer. For a full list of dates, see below or visit thereklaws.com
