THE REKLAWS SET THE SUMMER WITH MAJOR LABEL DEBUT AND NEW SINGLE, “HOMETOWN KIDS”

16 June 2017 – (Toronto, ON) – Today, Canadian country brother-sister duo The Reklaws announce their major label debut with the release of single, “Hometown Kids” via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Written by Stuart and Jenna Walker, Travis Wood and Gavin Slaight the new track is a feel-good anthem for their generation and is available via all digital retailers now. Jenna Walker continued, “Hometown Kids is super close to our hearts and was written as a tribute to our own hometown, Cambridge. Whether from a small or big town, we hope fans can relate to it as a soundtrack to their summer. We can’t wait to see what country fans think of our new music!”

Growing up on an “adventure farm” outside of Cambridge, Ontario, brother-sister duo The Reklaws have had a love of entertainment from a young age, performing at different venues across Canada. In 2012, they were awarded the CCMA Discovery Artist title followed by the 2013 Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase title, which included a release with Big Machine Canada. In 2013, the duo opened for Dierks Bentley on the main stage at Boots & Hearts in front of 40,000 of country music’s largest fans. The Reklaws were invited back to the festival in 2014, 2015 and 2016 where they hosted the main stage and opened for acts like Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Thomas Rhett and more. This summer, fans can see The Reklaws at a number of festivals across Ontario, including Trackside Music Festival where they will share the stage with fellow country artists Kip Moore and Brothers Osborne. More music from The Reklaws will follow this year.
