18 JANUARY 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Today, Sarah Blasko unveils her brand-new single, “A Shot” along with its accompanying music video. The track is the second to be lifted from the Australian singer-songwriter’s forthcoming album, Depth Of Field, slated to release on February 23 via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Available now for pre-order, Depth Of Field can be purchased in standard CD and digital format, as well as limited-edition lenticular cover.

Depth of Field represents another extraordinary chapter in the career of an artist whose six-album run of genre defining art-pop is unparalleled. The album arrives as the follow-up to Blasko’s 2015 release, the ARIA Award winning and AMP shortlisted record, Eternal Return.

Blasko delivers “A Shot” with a dramatic force and beauty that will surely rank as one of the greatest vocal performances in her storied career.  The track masquerades as an extraordinary torch-song but is in fact inspired the artist’s perception of betrayal.

“‘A Shot’ is about the heartache that comes from feeling betrayed by someone you never thought would betray you, at a time when you need them most,” Sarah states. “The shock is physical in nature.”

Directed by McLean Stephenson (PVT, Brightness, Bad Dreems, Alex Cameron), the video for “A Shot” was filmed on location in Vaucluse, Sydney and brings the thunderous intensity of the song to life.

"When I first listened to this song I saw a moonless sea,” Director, Mclean Stephenson says. “I told Sarah we were going to have to get in the water to shoot it.  In the middle of winter, at night, that was quite a feat.  We were in the water for a few hours, drinking whiskey to stay warm, teeth chattering.  But it was worth it.  To me, the video looks how the song sounds.” Watch the full video below.
