03 APRIL 2026 (TORONTO, ON) - Today, British singer songwriter Sekou has shared his latest single "Dangerous Lover"’.

The synth-driven infectious track hears Sekou lean even further into his R&B influences to expertly craft his polished sound, continuing to solidify his place as an essential emerging voice in British music.

Commenting on today’s release, Sekou says "Dangerous Lover’ isn’t just a song to me, it is an escape and somewhat a bit of delusion and a conversation I had been avoiding with myself for far too long.

In the studio, I wasn't chasing perfection, I was chasing honesty. Sometimes being an artist is about letting yourself unravel, saying the things you don't say out loud, and this is one of those moments where I was grateful to make a song I loved out of it."

‘Dangerous Lover’ is Sekou’s first offering since the release of his mixtape In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 1 in November. The five-track project saw Sekou at his most authentic, and showcased his ability to intertwine nostalgic and familiar melodies with an energising, modern twist. In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 1 is home to neo-pop soul driven single ‘Catching Bodies’, which since its release has garnered over 9 million Spotify streams and counting, and Motown inspired ‘Never Gunna Give You Up’.

Since In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 1, Sekou hasn’t stopped. In January, Sekou played a pop up show at London’s Rough Trade alongside longtime collaborator Kevin Abstract. In February, he opened for Sam Smith for their To Be Free: San Francisco residency, joining them on stage for an incredible duet of their hit song ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’. Last month, he made his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge debut, performing ‘Catching Bodies’ and a cover of musical mentor and friend Justin Bieber’s ‘Yukon’, after featuring on Bieber’s track ‘Too Long’ from 2025 album SWAG. Also in March, Sekou received his first MOBO Award nomination for ‘Best Newcomer’.

Next month, Sekou will kick off his headline In A World We Don’t Belong UK & EU Tour in Brussels. The tour, which required additional dates to be added following huge demand, will also see Sekou bring his brilliant live show to London’s EartH Theatre on 20th April alongside major cities across the UK and Europe including Manchester, Birmingham, Paris and Amsterdam.

Before his return to music late last year, Sekou had already taken the time to build the foundations for greatness. The 21-year-old made the Top 10 shortlist of BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2024 poll, has completed standout performances on Later… with Jools Holland and 2025’s TIFF Tribute Awards, and also made history as the youngest ever BRIT nominee, with a Rising Star Award nomination. Clearly no stranger to connecting with his musical peers and inspirations, Sekou has collaborated with huge names in the game including Justin Bieber, Central Cee, Kevin Abstract, and earned praise last year from Elton John
