28 JANUARY 2015 (Toronto, ON) – Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, who took the music world by storm this past year with his 2X platinum single “Life of The Party” and #1 Digital Albums chart EP, announces his debut album HANDWRITTEN for April 28 release via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Shawn announced the album in addition to a 14-date international tour run yesterday on NBC’s Today Show. HANDWRITTEN will be available for pre-order on iTunes February 2 and will feature “Life of The Party” and Gold-selling single “Something Big”, along with new songs crafted by Shawn in writing sessions over the past year. The new music includes production by Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz's "I’m Yours" and Train's "Hey Soul Sister"), as well as songs with “Life Of The Party” co-writers Ido Zmishlany and Scott Harris. In addition to the already released tracks, fans that pre-order the album will be treated with an instant audio download of the brand new song performed on the Today Show, “A Little Too Much”, as well as four other new songs ahead of album release. The tour dates, which sold out within minutes of going on sale, are a continuation of Shawn’s first-ever sold out headline shows this past November, and is his first major stint back on the road since the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball Tour in December.
