29 MAY 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – JUNO-nominated pop artist Sofia Camara returns with her new single, “The Last Encounter,” marking a defining moment in her rapid ascent. The track is out now alongside an official music video and marks Sofia’s first release of 2026 as she continues to build momentum on a global scale.
The single is released via 21 Entertainment Group and Universal Music Canada, with international support from Mercury Records (US) and Polydor Records (UK).
On “The Last Encounter,” Sofia leans into the emotional honesty that has come to define her songwriting, reflecting on the quiet acceptance that comes with realizing a relationship has reached its end. Built around a restrained yet cinematic sound, the track captures the final interaction between two people who understand that it’s time to let go and move forward. The song reunites Sofia with longtime collaborators Mike Wise, Lowell, and Nate Ferraro.
“There’s a theory that every relationship has a final moment — a last conversation, a last glance, a last time your paths cross, even if you don’t realize it when it happens. Once the connection has taught you what it came to teach, life quietly begins rearranging itself to move you forward. That idea really stayed with me when writing this song,” says Sofia.
Sofia’s rise has been marked by a string of defining moments, including a JUNO Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist/Group of the Year and a nationally broadcast performance at the JUNO Awards. Her breakout single “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)” introduced her to a global audience, amassing over 119 million combined streams to date, while “Girls Like You” reached the Top 5 at Canadian radio and spent over 20 weeks on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. She has since taken her music to international stages, performing at major festivals including Lollapalooza and Osheaga, sharing stages with artists such as Alex Warren, Bastille, Alessia Cara, Stevie Nicks, and appearing alongside Joni Mitchell and Nelly Furtado.
With “The Last Encounter,” Sofia builds on the momentum of a breakthrough 2025, continuing to connect with audiences around the world and bring her music to stages across North America and Europe. Rooted in the idea that every relationship has its final moment, the track signals a deeper level of clarity in her songwriting as she continues this next chapter.
