NORTH AMERICAN SHOWS ANNOUNCED
12 May 2015 (Toronto, ON) – Son Lux is set to release their fourth full-length album, Bones on June 23 via Glassnote/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Bones is a call to action, a document of personal and collective uprising. Themes of metamorphosis resonate in architectural, vivid sound. Founded by producer-composer Ryan Lott in 2007, Son Lux “works at the nexus of several rarely-overlapping Venn Diagrams” (Pitchfork). With the recent additions to the band of guitarist-composer Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang, Son Lux is now a ferocious trio both live and on record. Bones is the first album documenting this new formation, and it draws from the three members' unique and omnivorous musical vernaculars. Few bands have built a more impressive and varied array of collaborators: Lorde, Beyoncé producer Boots, Sufjan Stevens, Matthew Dear, Busdriver, Vijay Iyer, Nico Muhly and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw. Earlier this week, Son Lux unveiled the video for “Change is Everything”, created by The Made Shop. The video, premiered by NPR, is a rotoscopic stop-motion film made with pushpins and 200 feet of thread. You can check out the video for “Change is Everything” here. Of the video Ryan Lott said, “Made Shop continue to outdo themselves as the visual force behind our music. They bring to the eyes a type of unexpected magic, a strange but familiar energy.
