28 APRIL 2023 (TORONTO, ON) Today, Platinum-Certified, Nashville-based singer and songwriter Stephen Sanchezunveils a new single entitled “Only Girl” via Mercury Records/Republic Records/Universal Music Canada. Listen HERE and watch the visualizer HERE.

On the song, Stephen Sanchez said:‘Only Girl’ is a dialogue and sentiment between rival characters that appear in the universe behind my new music: The Troubadour Sanchez and a mysterious past love of Evangeline’s (seen in the lyric video). Both characters sing with the same heartseeking to be with Evangeline in 1964. With ‘Only Girl,’ I want people to feel like they are part of the counterculture of 1964 when they listen to this new era of music. A counterculture that focused on loveI want to ingrain that theme of love into today’s worlda world that doesn’t have enough classic romance.”

The rapidly rising star initially debuted the tune on tour, leaving fans clamoring for its official release. Earlier this month, he teased “Only Girl” online, inciting widespread excitement from fans. The track was produced by Ian Fitchuk and Konrad Snyder, who also co-wrote the song with Stephen and Stephen Day. The accompanying cinematic visualizer notably stars the same actress, Frances O’Sullivan, from the “Evangeline visualizer and was shot in London along with the single artwork.

Stephen continues to make headlines. He just wrapped a sold out spring tour, while the double platinum “Until I Found You” vaulted to #1 on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs Chart and reached over 1 billion combined global streams on Spotify. Meanwhile, “Evangeline” continues to heat up, as it recently hit Top 40 at AAA Radio. It has generated tens of millions of streams thus far, and GRAMMY.com proclaimed, “Sanchez is riding high with a new single, the similarly retro ‘Evangeline’.” He recently performed the song live from VEVO Studio – watch HERE.

In the fall, he will kick off his 32-date headline tour in Indianapolis, IN and make stops at legendary venues across the country. Due to high demand, a second show has been added in LA and D.C., where he will perform two shows at Los Angeles’ The Wiltern on November 2nd & November 3rd and two shows at D.C’s 9:30 Club on December 7th & 8th.In addition, he will make stops at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on November 17th and New York’s Terminal 5 on December 2nd.

ABOUT STEPHEN SANCHEZ:

With a dusty baritone as bright as an eternally lit jukebox and tattooed fingers around the fretboard of a rare guitar, Stephen Sanchez tunes into longing and love with the acuity of a tried-and-tested troubadour—yet he’s only 20-years-old. Transcending eras, he writes the kind of songs that can play just as well from your parent’s vintage record player as they could from the main stages of festivals a la Bonnaroo. If somebody told you he just pulled up from the fifties in a gorgeous Caddy, you’d have a hard time disputing it. As the story goes, he initially stirred up early buzz with his very first upload “Lady By The Sea,” going viral on social media and establishing rapport with audiences. Not long after, his original breakout “Until I Found You” properly introduced a spirited signature style. Anchored by a dreamy croon and breezy guitar wrapped in silky harmonies, it tallied over 1.5 billion total streams between the original, piano version, and duet with gold-certified pop singer and songwriter Em Beihold. Meanwhile, it cracked the Top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart as his monthly listenership on Spotify exploded to the tune of 33 million, enshrining him as “one of the Top 100 most-listened to artists on Spotify. He also delivered jaw-dropping renditions of “Until I Found You” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Night with Seth Meyers and a performance with Beihold on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Finding his way into the hearts of countless fans worldwide, he continued to captivate with his 2022 EP Easy On My Eyes[Mercury Records/Republic Records] and much more plotted for 2023 and beyond, beginning with the critically acclaimed “Evangeline.” Piling up 10 million-plus streams within a month, Billboard hailed it as “sounding entirely timeless” and Consequence proclaimed ““Evangeline” feels like dusting off a beloved record and giving it a spin.” Fans and critics were blown away by Stephen’s electric performance of the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. At the same time, he sold out all of his spring 2023 North American headline tour dates and announced a second headline run in the fall, increasing excitement for his forthcoming debut album, set to be released this year.
