03 APRIL 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Today, 17-time GRAMMY® Award-winning artist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® Inductee Sting shares the Desert Rose Reimagined EP, featuring 3 brand new Remixes and extended mixes of his epic chart-topping crossover anthem “Desert Rose.”
Listen HERE via UMe.
Among many highlights, globally acclaimed Middle Eastern-American duo Bedouin—Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe—deliver a newly reimagined version of “Desert Rose.” Channeling the cinematic spirit of the original, they seamlessly stretch the song’s soundscape with deep house rhythms, down-tempo grooves, and international appeal. The pair accent the track’s instantly recognizable North African stylings with Middle Eastern flair, bringing fresh fire to it.
Bedouin recently headlined a series of high-profile shows at Miami Music Week. Next weekend, they will descend upon Indio, CA for Coachella, lighting up the Yuma Tent for the third time and closing out weekend 1 on the main stage at the notorious after party at Zenyara alongside Adriatique and WhoMadeWho.
Bedouin remains renowned for their award-winning signature residency series: SAGA. The latter’s intersection of music, culture, and visual storytelling continues to enchant and enrapture audiences worldwide. Now in its eighth year, SAGA lands at London hotspot KOKO in May. It has previously packed venues in Tulum, New York, Istanbul, Marrakech, Barcelona, Mykonos, and beyond.
To round out the Desert Rose Reimagined EP, GRAMMY® Award-winning South African artist and producer Zakes Bantwini serve up a powerhouse remix of “Desert Rose” anchored by his precise and potent rhythmic alchemy. Over the years, he has consistently distinguished himself as an internationally celebrated Afro-House pioneer. Bantwini’s multiplatinum smash “Osama” took flight as a phenomenon and entrenched him as a fan favorite. He recently released a new album called Echoes of Botanical Gardens.
Finally, Darque infuses “Desert Rose” with South African flavor on his remix. The producer and DJ recharged Afro-House with a distinct vibe and vision. Simultaneously, he has cemented himself as a leader in African electronic music, thanks to songs such as “Areyeng,” “Emaweni,” and more.
Even amidst one of the most revered catalogs of all-time, “Desert Rose” stands alone. Sting, managed by Martin Kierszenbaum/Cherrytree Music Company, crafted the song alongside Algerian songwriter Cheb Raba—a.k.a. Rabah Zarradine. Of course, it notably revolves around an iconic and instantly recognizable vocal from Algerian raï artist Cheb Mami.
The original “Desert Rose” appeared on Sting’s Brand New Day and My Songs albums and united Arabic, Algerian folk, and Western vibes, gaining traction internationally. It reached the Top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100 and claimed spots in the Top 10 of charts worldwide. It adorned Sting’s 3x-Platinum sixth solo offering, Brand New Day, which received GRAMMY® Awards in the categories of “Best Pop Album” and “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.” Not to mention, it remains one of his “Top 10 Most-Streamed Songs,” with over 184 million Spotify streams and over 582 million YouTube views for the official music video. Upon release, Rolling Stone hailed Brand New Day as “Sting’s most stylistically integrated album since 1987’s Nothing Like The Sun.”
Sting recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of his GRAMMY® Award-nominated and Platinum-Certified fifth full-length solo album, Mercury Falling, with the release of a new Digital-Only special Expanded Edition available on all streaming platforms. It served as the latest Expanded Edition to be issued from Sting’s illustrious catalogue. It followed on the heels of last year’s The Dream Of The Blue Turtles (Expanded Edition).
