RELEASED ON HIS 25TH BIRTHDAY, THE RISING BAY CITY, TEXAS RAPPER'S HARD-HITTING NEW SINGLE IS THE LATEST RELEASE FROM THE UPCOMING TEXAS TECHNICIAN, FOLLOWING UP THE BILLBOARD-CHARTING HIT "02.02.99"

"That Mexican OT is a consummate entertainer: Sometimes he’s a down-and-dirty villain who cheats to win, other times he’s a comical babyface and a boisterous drunk... All the while, he underscores how syncretic Texas music has always been, infusing traditions from both sides of the border with his own idiosyncrasies. The result is a brightly coloured spectacle, a freestyle brawl of rap styles and regional flavors." - Pitchfork

"That Mexican OT is having a moment...The 24-year-old from Bay City, Texas, is the latest regional Mexican performer to take over the hearts and minds of a music-loving world. But instead of corridos tumbados y bélicos or longing cumbias, Virgil Rene Gazca, better known as That Mexican OT (the OT stands for “Outta Texas”), is making waves in the world of third coast rap." - Los Angeles Times

"That Mexican OT looks like a cowboy. But he sounds like a rap star." The Washington Post

"He's got his fans hopped up on the same giddy multiculturalism as he is." - The FADER

"OT’s creativity and style is introducing something truly unprecedented to the rap industry and the relatively smaller landscape of Latin rap." Houston Chronicle

"The Texas rapper is climbing the charts and bridging generational divides" - SPIN

"His deep bag of flows and lyrical creativity as well as his consistent musical output is impressive."  - Lyrical Lemonade

"That Mexican OT’s Southern Trap Shines On 'Lonestar Luchador'...OT (Outta Texas) delivers a charming Southern style partnered with his own Bay City flow that makes 'Lonestar Luchador' a must-listen." - HotNewHipHop

With his gracefully rolled "r's" and Texas-sized charisma, That Mexican OT can go bar-for-bar with rap's best. Going toe-to-toe with another triplet titan on his new banger, OT shares "Point 'Em Out," his new collaboration with DaBaby. Applying his Southeast Texas drawl to the thumping minimalist beat, produced by SoCal hitmakers Bankroll Got It, OT sends a stern warning to anyone who would dare break his strictly enforced Omerta, his bars dripping with double-entendres and slick witticisms: "Leave him flat just like a torta, run with killers like an orca/No matter where it is, no matter where I'm at because to me no me importa." DaBaby steps in for the second verse, delivering a motormouthed manifesto of his own.

Directed by OT's regular shooter Dorian Green, also known as DGreen Filmz, the video for "Point 'Em Out" is a tribute to Pulp Fiction, with a plot, wardrobe, and even title font that echoes Quentin Tarantino's 1994 classic. OT and DaBaby portray Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield, as they hunt a valuable briefcase and torment anyone in their way.

"Point 'Em Out" is That Mexican OT's second new single of 2024, following the sinister "02.02.99," which is quickly becoming a breakthrough hit. Released in early January, the song has generated over 16 million streams across platforms. "02.02.99" is currently sitting at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, after debuting at #88 the week before.

"Point 'Em Out" and "02.02.99" continue OT's hot streak, which started last summer and made him one of the most exciting breakthrough rap stars of 2023. He started his legendary run with "Johnny Dang" ft. Drodi & Paul Wall, which spent 12 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, earned GOLD status from the RIAA, and appeared on Lonestar Luchador, his acclaimed album. Acclaimed by Pitchfork (7.5), Lonestar Luchador came out last July, boasting highlights like the bi-lingual banger "Barrio" ft. Lefty SM, the melodic and guitar-inflected revenge anthem "Breannan," and the villainesque stomper "Cowboy Killer." Lonestar Luchador made an immediate impact, reaching #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and peaking at #59 on the Billboard 200. Later in the year, OT embraced a Texas rap tradition when he shared Lonestar Luchador (Chopped Not Slopped), remixed by DJ Lil Steve of the legendary collective The Chopstars. Featuring additional guest appearances from BigXThaPlug and Big Yavo, Lonestar Luchador is available everywhere via Manifest/GoodTalk/Good Money Global.

Last fall, That Mexican OT completed the "Lonestar Luchador Tour," the Bay City native's first-ever headlining tour, selling out dozens of dates across the US. The rapper earned "Best Of 2023" notices from The New York TimesRolling StoneBillboardComplex, and Pitchfork.
