TIERRA WHACK RELEASES ASSERTIVE NEW SINGLE “WAX PAPER” AND ITS OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO
New Mixtape WHACK’S MUSEUM To Be Released On Juneteenth

05 JUNE 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — GRAMMY-nominated recording artist and auteur Tierra Whack returns with a bold new single and music video, “WAX PAPER.” Earlier this week she took to socials to proudly announce her forthcoming mixtape, WHACK’S MUSEUM, which is set to arrive on Juneteenth (June 19) via Interscope Records. The creative force celebrates the holiday with another dynamic set of songs, expanding the creative boundaries that have already made her a critical darling and one of rap’s most innovative artists. Ahead of the mixtape’s release, Tierra encourages doubters to text her number (323-747-7544) with an apology, because, as she wrote on social media, “I never stopped believing in myself when you stopped believing in me.”
On “WAX PAPER,” the first offering from WHACK’S MUSEUM, Tierra combines her stinging, relentless precision and clever wordplay, taking aim at naysayers and critics while owning her power over a hypnotic, haunting beat with a nostalgic 90s flavor. Its official music video, directed by Child and shot in Tierra’s native Philadelphia, restructures her hometown through a black-and-white lens and creates a captivating cinematic world that equals Tierra’s unmatched storytelling and delivery.
“Philadelphia isn’t polished,” says Child. “It’s a living museum held together by grit, community, and memory. We kept coming back to old hip-hop videos, chasing that feeling Wu-Tang captured in the ’90s—raw, cinematic, and deeply rooted in the places and people that shaped it. Every frame feels lifted from the soul of the culture there, a snapshot of resilience, rhythm, and truth.”
Tierra’s return to music complements the career-building moments that have expanded her talents and strengths. She delivered a rousing presentation at Amazon’s Upfront series last month – joining luminaries including Oprah Winfrey – to explain the power of Twitch’s social reach. In the acting world, she made her voice-acting debut in the Invincible VS fighting game, a companion to the massive Amazon Prime hit show. Last year, she appeared as Adrienne in the Marlon Wayans-led film HIM.
WHACK’S MUSEUM is Tierra’s first project since her critically acclaimed 2024 debut album, WORLD WIDE WHACK, which astounded critics and fans alike. Variety wrote "WORLD WIDE WHACK is tender, fatalistic, colorful, and endearingly weird, a balance that can only be managed by someone with supreme curatorial instincts and the talent to swirl all the elements together." Pitchfork echoed this sentiment: "Her eye for surreal, captivating detail loses none of its gleam." Several outlets praised the album as one of the year’s best, with "Best Albums Lists" placements from TIME, Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, Esquire, and more.
