UNIVERSAL MUSIC CANADA APPOINTS JOHN ZERUCELLI AS VICE PRESIDENT, PUBLIC AFFAIRS
June 12, 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Universal Music Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of John Zerucelli as Vice President, Public Affairs, effective July 16.
As a key part of the company’s senior leadership team, Zerucelli will develop and lead strategy across the company's public policy and public affairs portfolio in Canada, and play an important role in Universal Music Group’s global government relations program. He will report to Jeffrey Remedios, President and CEO, Universal Music Canada.
“John has had an incredible career at the intersection of public policy, business and government,” said Remedios. “Now he’s pairing his passion for music and supporting artists with his years of experience in public affairs, law, communications and issues management. We can’t wait to welcome him to the team.”

Zerucelli has worked for more than 15 years in the worlds of public policy, law and politics, most recently as a Senior Advisor and Director of Operations in the Office of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Previously, John has held several senior positions in the Ontario Government at Treasury Board and in the Premier’s Office. He has also held senior roles on political campaigns municipally, provincially and federally, including most recently as National Tour Director for the 2015 Justin Trudeau Campaign.

Zerucelli is a lawyer, and worked for one of Canada’s leading law firms as a corporate-commercial litigator, where he helped clients navigate a wide variety of business, regulatory and legal matters. He holds a B.A. in Arts from Queen’s University and a J.D. from the University of Ottawa.
